Fl_File_Chooser's "Add Favorite" function wasn't including the
Alt-N shortcut when initially added. Now just calls update_favorites()
to rebuild the menu with proper shortcut numbering.
When Mike proposed Fl_File_Chooser, he included a list of features
in the voting contest: https://www.fltk.org/contest.php
Seemed like a good idea to include these in the widget's docs.
A lot of code touched because low level functions needed to pass up
error messages reliably, and this had to propagate up the entire
driver hierarchy.
Tested OK *in English* on:
> Linux
> OSX 10.10.x
> Windows VS2017
> Windows mingw64
I have no way to test on Android, but it might work.
TODO: Needs testing in other languages to verify proper UTF8 error messages,
esp. with Windows VS, due to complexities with FormatMessage() -- see get_ms_errmsg()
- remove obsolete svn '$Id$' tags from all source files
- update .fl files and generated files accordingly
- replace 'http://www.fltk.org' URL's with 'https://...'
- replace bug report URL 'str.php' with 'bugs.php'
- remove trailing whitespace
- fix other whitespace errors flagged by Git
- add and/or fix missing or wrong standard headers
- convert tabs to spaces in all source files
The only relevant code changes are in the fluid/ folder where
some .fl files and other source files were used to generate
the '$Id' headers and footers.
Replace compiler/preprocessor/platform macro "WIN32" with "_WIN32".
Replace "WIN32" in text and documentation with "Windows".
Replace "MSWindows" with "Windows".
To do: README.Windows.txt (and maybe other documentation as well)
needs updates.

This second step replaces FL/x.H with FL/platform.H in all source files.
Dependencies have been adjusted as well.
This commit completes the replacement of FL/x.H with FL/platform.H.

src/Fl_File_Chooser2.cxx contains now its contents of svn r 11606 plus
Manolo's change in svn r 11609.
Matt's intended modification (mkdir...) was dropped.
Matt, please take care of this if still needed (I guess it's obsolete).

The parts with case-insensitive filename comparisons for WIN32
and for WIN32 but not CYGWIN still have to be rewritten.

struct stat is considered a platform-specific type.
The Unix, Mac OS, and WIN32 platforms define it with #include <sys/stat.h>
Other platforms may do that their own way.

This commit includes all fixes from branch-1.3 (svn r 11243) and additional
fixes for warnings that crept in during the porting efforts, particularly
C++ ("//") comments in C and included header files, and some more.

Searching for __APPLE, WIN32 or X11 did give me many false results. I instead marked most ifdef's that I would like to get rid of with the text // PORTME:, so they can be easily found by a global search.

This had been previously done in r.8282 and r.8286 without accounting for
the existence of the Fl_File_Chooser.fl file. With this commit, files
Fl_File_Chooser.{cxx, H} are properly generated by Fl_File_Chooser.fl
